Healthy veg Rice Bowl served in McDonald’s style full of cheese veggies and mushroom.Do give recipe a try.
Ingredients:- ( Serve 3 )
- 1/2 cup Wheat grain / Gaho
- 1 cup Basmati Rice
- Salt as much required
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1 Onion
- 1/2 cup French beans / Gawar fali
- 1/2 cup Carrot / Gajjar
- 1/2 cup Sweet corn
- 100 gm Button Mushroom
- 1/2 cup Capsicum / Shimla mirch
- 1 tsp Garlic paste / Lasoon
- 1/2 tsp Pepper / Kali mirch
- 1/2 tsp or as per taste Chilli flakes
- 1/2 tsp Oregano
- 1 tbsp Green Coriander / Dhaniya Patti
- 1 tbsp Tomato sauce
- 2 tsp Soya sauce
WHITE SAUCE
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tbsp Refined flour / Maida
- 2 cup Milk
- 2-3 Bayleaves / Taaj Patti
- 1/2 tsp Pepper / Kali mirch
- 1/2 tsp Dry or Fresh Basil / Tulsi
- 2 tbsp shredded Cheese
Method:-
- Soak Wheat grain in 1 cup water for 4-5 hours and Rice in same 1 cup Water for 1 hour.
- Pressure cook wheat for 6 whistles adding a cup of more water with half teaspoon Salt and then simmer for about 10 minutes before putting off. When pressure settles down open to check if its soft.
- In 3 cups of boiling water with half teaspoon added Salt drop soaked rice till you are able to press it between finger and thumb, then strain off excess water.Keep spreader.
- Heat utter & Oil
- Add Onion,Carrot,Beans,Sweet corn,mushroom,Capsicum,Garlic paste,Pepper,Chilli flakes,Oregano,Salt and Coriander.
- Sauté over medium-high till veggies are not raw but still crispy and Water dried
- Separate out about 2 tablespoons of veggies for garnish.
- Then add side kept Rice and Wheat.Add Soya And Tomato sauce.
- Gently mix.
- Now to make white sauce in hot butter add Bayleaves.Roast for about 30 seconds.
- Add flour.Roux for about 2 minutes over low.Add milk mixing and breaking any lumps.
- Add Salt,Pepper,shredded cheese and Basil.Cook till neither too thick nor too thin.
- To serve now in a bowl add the rice wheat mix.Drop a layer of white sauce and then sprinkle side kept sautéd veggies.
Tips :
- Always wash Button mushroom with warm water couple of times before cooking.
- Maintain the consistency of white Sauce keeping in mind that it becomes more thick after it cools down.
