Gujrati Stuffed Bread of India Thepla

Gujrati Thepla can be called best Indian bread for breakfast made with sorted spices and goodness of chosen veggies and lentils.Here we make it with Bottle gourd / Lauki.

Ingredients :- ( Serves 8 )

  • 250 gm Bottle gourd / Lauki
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric / Haldi
  • 1/4 tsp Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Mango powder / Amchur
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder / Dhaniya
  • 1/2 tsp Ajwain / Carom seeds
  • 1 tsp Dry Fenugreek leaves / Kasoori methi
  • 1/2 tsp Nigella / Kalonji
  • 2 Green chillies
  • 1 tsp Ginger / Adrakh
  • 1 tbsp Green Coriander / Dhaniya
  • 2 cup Wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp Curd
  • Oil / Butter

Method:-

  1. Shred Lauki mix it with flour adding all the ingredients to form a soft dough.
  2. Apply little Oil over the dough,covet and keep it to rest for about a 15 minutes.
  3. Next pinch balls out of dough and roll out thin rotis.
  4. Roast till brown spots on medium over Griddle / Tawa adding a teaspoon oil on both sides.
  5. Serve hot with curd or Pickle.
