We have made shimla mirch in a different way that can be eaten as a snack or side dish.
Ingredients:-
- 6-7 Capsicum / Shimla mirch
- 1 tbsp Oil / Tel
- 1/2 tsp Cumin / Zeera
- 1 tsp finely chopped Ginger / Adrakh
- 1/2 tsp Green chilli paste / Hari mirch
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric / Haldi
- 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder / Lal mirch
- 1 tsp Mango powder / Aamchur
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 6 medium Potatoes / Aloo
- 1 tbsp finely chopped Coriander / Dhaniya
BATTER
- 1/3 cup Rice flour / Chawal ka atta
- 1/3 cup Corn flour
- 1/4 cup Gram flour / Besan
- 3/4 cup Water / Pani
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp Nigella / Black cumin / Kalonji
- 1/2 tsp Carom / Ajwain
- 1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder / Lal mirch
- 1/2 cup Bread crumb / Sukha bread chura
- Little Chaat masala
OIL FO4 FRYING
Method :-
- In hot Oil crackle Cumin for few seconds over low then add Ginger and chilli paste.
- Roast for few seconds,drop all the spices including Salt .Roast for a minute.
- Add mashed boiled potatoes,mix and sauté with spices over medium heat.It will take 2-3 minutes.
- Add Coriander,mix and keep aside to cool.Stuffing is ready.
- Make thick batter with flour,spices and Water.
- Removing top stem of Capsicum make a hole in it.
- Stuff capsicum with the made Potato stuffing.
- Coat it with batter and then give it a second Bread crumb coating.
- Fry in hot Oil tilting between over medium heat till golden brown.
- Strain and serve.
