Makki ki roti is incomplete without the mention of Sarson ka saag an incredible delicious combination.Here we are starting front basic and making the roti .
Ingredients :- ( Serves 4 )
- 2 cup Corn meal or Maze flour / Makki atta
- 2 tsp powdered Sugar or Jaggery
- 1/4 tsp Salt ( Optional )
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1/4 cup Clarified butter / Desi ghee
Method:-
- In a bowl add sugar or Jaggery to the makki flour adding salt or omit out salt
- Then add Oil and mix.
- Knead flour using lukewarm water as much required to make a soft dough.
- Pinch out into four equal sized balls.
- Roll out into a half inch thick roti.
- Drop over a hot Griddle /Tawa and roast on medium till brown spots on both sides adding couple of teaspoons of Oil or Ghee on both sides.
Tips :-
- Instead of Clarified butter you can even use any other Oil.
- Keep on punching the dough for about 5 minutes to make it soft.
