Matar Aloo is a very popular and common Indian curry that can be easily made with various variations.Here we will make it in a simple way with few basic ingredients without adding Onion.

Ingredients:-  ( Serve 8)

  • 3 Medium Potatoes / Aloo
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin / Zeera
  • 1 tsp grated Ginger / Adrakh
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Turmeric / Haldi
  • 1 tsp Coriander / Dhaniya
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 cup Peas / Matar
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander chutney or 1 tbsp fresh chopped Coriander leaves
  • 2 Green chillies / Hari mirch
  • 1/2 tsp Sabzi masala ( Optional )


  1. In hot Oil add Potatoes made into small cubes.Fry for about 5-7 minutes over medium to high heat adding all the spices one by one.
  2. Then add Peas,keep on frying for couple of minutes and then add Water about 2 cups.
  3. Cover and let the Aloo matar sabzi get cooked for about 5 minutes over low to medium.
  4. Sprinkle Sabji masala and serve hot with Roti or Rice.
