Double Ka Meetha Shahi Tukda

Shahi tukda or double ka meetha is a popular dessert from Hyderabad.its served usually during marriage or wedding.

Ingredients :- ( Serves 12 )John

  • 1 Litre Milk
  • 1/2 cup Milk powder
  • 100 ml Clarified butter / Desi Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Green Cardamom / Elachi
  • 6 Bread slices
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1+1/2 tbsp Dry fruits


  1. Boil Milk over a low till it reduces 1/3 rd adding Milk powder.After done add cardamom powder.and your Rabdi is ready.
  2. Discard the sides of Bread slices cutting it into triangles.
  3. Fry bread pieces in Ghee over medium to high till golden brown.Strain out.
  4. Make a 1 thread sugar syrup.
  5. Soak fried bread pieces in sugar syrup for just 30 sec.
  6. Take them out arrange and pour the made Rabdi on top.
  7. Garnish with chopped dry fruits like Almonds,Raisins and Cashews.
  8. Serve warm.

Tips :-

  • Use dry Bread slices so that they don’t absorb too much of Ghee while frying.
  • Boil sugar at low till it melt and then put to high.
