Til Coconut Khoya Laddu

A sweet coconut Sesame Laddu made during winters or in Sankranthi a winter festival.

Ingredients :- ( Serves 15 )

  • 1 cup Sesame seeds / Safad Til
  • 1/2 cup fresh grated Coconut
  • 125 gm Mawa or Khoya
  • 1/2 cup powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 cup crushed Cashews
  • 1/2 tsp Green cardamom / Hari elachi

Method:-

  1. Roast over medium heat till it starts changing colour,it hardly takes 5 minutes.
  2. Let this now come down to room temperature.
  3. Roast Coconut over low till it starts changing colour and smells appealing.
  4. Now keep this also aside to cool.
  5. Grind Sesame seeds to powder.
  6. Now heat Mawa over medium till Oil oozes out.and Mawa changes colour.
  7. When Mawa  still warm add and mix in side kept grinder Sesame seeds,Coconut,Sugar,Cashews and Cardamom.
  8. Now taking a teaspoon of water in your hand press and bind Laddu.
  9. Coat the laddus with Sesame seeds.
  10. Serve or you can even store them for 2 weeks.

Tips :-

  • Over roasted Sesame seeds might make it bitter.
  • If the mix cools down reheat it over a low heat and bind the ladoo.
