Mouth Melting Besan Burfi

Besan Burfi is a commonly made sweet made in large quantity in every. Indian household and stored.we will make it special here with some more added goodies like milk powder that will make it mouth melting.

Ingredients :- ( Serves 8 )

  • 125 ml Butter / Ghee
  • 2 tbsp Semolina / Suji
  • 1 cup Gram flour / Besan
  • 1/2 tsp Green cardamom / Hari Elachi
  • 2 tbsp Milk powder
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/3 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp of Cashews & Almonds


  1. Grease your baking tray.
  2. In a kadhai add Ghee then add Suji along with Besan.
  3. Roast over low heat for 20-25 minutes.
  4. Then add Milk powder and Green cardamom powder.Mix
  5. We now get aromatic brown wet sand like texture.Put off the stove.
  6. Now to make Sugar syrup let the sugar melt in Water over low and then boil it over high to get one thread consistency.
  7. And then add this sugar syrup to the Besan when still warm.Mix to form a smooth thick paste.
  8. Immediately drop in the greased tray.Level it up spatula.
  9. Spread chopped dry fruits,press them down.
  10. Cool and cut.

Tips :-

  • Adding Semolina makes Besan Burfi lite and flaky.
  • You can roast Suji-Besan over medium heat but you need to be very careful as Besan tends to burn very easily.
  • Initially while roasting Besan will absorb whole of ghee and then after about 15 min start oozing out the Ghee.
