A popular bakery product from Hyderabad,this homemade Osmania biscuits will melt in your mouth.

Ingredients:-  ( Serve 37 )

  • 160 gm Salted Butter
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 40 ml Milk
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla essence
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder / Elachi
  • 3 tbsp Milk powder
  • 2 cup Refined flour / Maida
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • Saffron milk


  1. Beat sugar with butter to make it smooth and fluffy.
  2. Now mix with this Milk,Vanilla essence,Cardamom and Milk powder.
  3. In another bowl mix Refined flour and Baking powder together.
  4. Mix and add the bowl of dry ingredients with wet ingredients.
  5. Bring together all the ingredients to form a dough without kneading it.
  6. Roll out a portion of the dough into a centimetre thick sheet.
  7. Brush cut cookies with saffron milk.
  8. Cut cookies with a cookie cutter and bake them over a baking tray at 180°c for 15-20 minutes.

Tips :

  • Kneading the dough forms gluten and gluten makes the dough stretchable which can make your biscuits hard.
